Dr. Markva received her undergraduate degree and graduate degree in Audiology from James Madison University. She received her doctoral degree in Audiology from University of Florida - Gainesville. Professional memberships include American Academy of Audiology, Academy of Doctors of Audiology, Hearing Loss Association of America, American Tinnitus Association, Fauquier Chamber of Commerce and the Warrenton Rotary Club.  Dr. Markva has been providing services to Virginians since 1989 and opened Fauquier Hearing Services in 1999.

Dr. Sohns received her bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Connecticut and received her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Audiology from the University of Pittsburgh.  She completed her doctoral externship at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.  During her graduate training, Sarah was the recipient of a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) training grant under the pediatric audiology subaward.  LEND training allowed her participation on a multidisciplinary team specializing in working with children with developmental disabilities.  Dr. Sohns' passion is audiology, community partnerships, and patient advocacy.  In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, cycling, kayaking and hiking.  Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Sarah has relocated to Virginia to become the newest member of the Fauquier Hearing Services team. 

Professional affiliations include the American Academy of Audiology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Educational Audiology Association.

Janelle joined the staff of Fauquier Hearing Services in 2007. She assists patients with check-in/check-out, receiving incoming calls, scheduling appointments and record keeping.  Janelle maintains all aspects of the front office to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.  She is in direct contact with our audiologists, Dr. Diane Markva and Dr. Sarah Sohns, to communicate any and all patient needs and questions.  She has a positive outlook on life and aims to please all of our new and existing patients.  Janelle is committed to providing excellent service to our patients, guaranteeing that the patient's experience at Fauquier Hearing Services is a positive one.  In her spare time, Janelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Tiffany, a native to Fauquier County, in the Midland, VA area, graduated college with a Certificate in Early Childhood Education.  Tiffany worked during high school and college as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  For more than 10 years she taught at a local pre-school before joining Fauquier Hearing Services in 2009.  Tiffany is available to assist patients with minor in-office repairs, cleanings, and questions regarding hearing instrument usage and care.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, sewing, baking/cooking, reading and enjoying the outdoors. 

Tammy joined Fauquier Hearing Services in February of 2010.  She is a member of the front office staff assisting patients with check-in/check-out, receiving incoming phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, making appointment reminder calls and record keeping.  Tammy was born and raised in Fauquier County; her grandfather established Rhodes Drug Store.  Tammy is also a portrait photographer and enjoys camping and crafting with family and friends.  Tammy helps to ensure that patients of Fauquier Hearing Services receive outstanding personal service.

Amy, our new Audiology Technician, joined Fauquier Hearing Services in March of 2011.  Her background is in customer service, in which Fauquier Hearing Services takes great pride.  Amy also assists as a member of the front office staff as well as other aspects of the practice as needed.  She is an active member of the local school PTOs and youth sports organizations.  She looks forward to meeting existing and new patients and providing outstanding service to fellow residents in and outside of the Warrenton community.

Cheri joined Fauquier Hearing Services in 2008.  With her background in Finance, she handles all aspects of patient accounts.  Cheri works closely with the audiologists to determine insurance benefits for hearing instruments and hearing evaluations for our patients.  She is responsible for filing insurance claims, posting insurance payments to patient accounts and patient billing.  Cheri is available to answer all of your billing questions and to assist in determing health insurance benefits for hearing aids/services.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time at sporting events with her family.

Cheri also acts as our Community Outreach Coordinator to inform patients, physicians, pre-schools, directors of assisted living facilities, educators, and the community of the importance of better hearing and advancements in hearing technology.
